In the Natural Park of Sasso Simone and Simoncello Pinadimeleto and Frontino are two villages rich in history: the first is the old Planus Mileti, castle given as a fief by Pope Gregory IX accounts Oliva, whose palace – today houses the municipal -ospita Museum of civilization, with full documentation of country life in the last three hundred years.
Frontino is one of the medieval castles in the long disputed between the Malatesta and Feltreschi with a history similar to that of all other fortifications neighborhood.
On the left side of the upper valley of the Leaf, here Lunano with its fascinating ruins of the ancient castle, now covered with ivy and connected by a narrow road to the monastery of Monte Illuminated (m.415).
From here it continues to finally Belforte all’Isauro, where the castle (seventh century AD) is now completely renovated headquarters of the “School of Italian Language and Culture C. Leopardi”.
